27 juli 2019: Verslag van mijn verhuizing van Koh Samui naar Khao Khitchakut.========================================
It was a long haul! All in all it took us 16.5 hours to go from Samui to Khao Kitchakut, my new hometown. The day started with stress, the truck was gonna be late for whatever reason, I didn't even bother to ask.. So when he finally arrived we were in a hurry to load all stuff in the truck, but we managed.. At 14:30 I gave my dogs a tranquiliser which worked like a charm! At 3 PM they were almost out so I could put them in their cages and load them up in our car.
We had rented a Proton Extra -a big car- with driver, the owner Dmitry, a Russian man who would bring us to Khao Kitchakut and return to Samui with the car. He is a very friendly man, not much of a talker, but hey, I talk for two
He is a retired SFB -former KGB- officer, interesting!
afbeeldingWe took the 4 o'clock Raja ferry to Donsak, I stayed in the car while sailing to Donsak, monitoring my babies.. So, once we arrived in Donsak, (1.5 hour by ferry), we went on our way! Stopping every few hours to stretch the legs, have a pee and check on the dogs. All was well, they were very relaxed, this was some good stuff I gave them
afbeeldingOur address is so remote that no routeplanner could find it so during the last 40 km or so Wan took over navigation to our house
At about 06:30 we'd arrived! Hello Khao Kitchakut!
Quickly we released the dogs from the crates, they had to spend 16.5 hours in a crate so they were dying for a pee! -I had stopped feeding them one day before leaving and water some three hours before they had to get in the crates so they were fairly empty when we left. Nonetheless, 16.5 hours is a damned long time!
afbeeldingIt was the first time that I saw the house, newly built some 1.5 years ago, Wan's own property, so I can say 'our' house
Looked great! A nice, spacey house with 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen, two bathrooms and plenty room outside for the dogs. The dog-fence was finished, enough said about that stress thing
Tomorrow they will come install the airco in the bedroom and a water-heater in the bathroom. Showered today with cold water, not my thing
The dogs loved it outside! Loki started by barking at any dog that would pass our gate
I'm sure the neighbourhood already knows about him.
In the afternoon the -big!- truck with our things arrived and with the help of family and friends he was unloaded in 30 minutes 😲
Wan was full of energy!! She worked all through the afternoon until the late evening sorting all out and finding spots to set parafernalia
I collected my PC stuff, assembled my desk and put the PC back together. I have WiFi, so for the time being I'm okay, later on I will upgrade my internet to a faster mode, for now it'll do.. We have not yet unpacked everything but all we unpacked had survived the moving, I have no doubts all will be okay
I was done with assembling and getting the PC to work at about 18:00 and hauled my ass to bed, I'm getting older and I can feel it! Slept solid until about 3 AM. Now I'm sitting here behind the PC, hammering in what you are reading now, my dogs are sleeping at my feet, life is good my friends!! Cheers!
